Minnesota Recreation and Park Association holds a Certified Playground Safety Inspector Course and Exam (formerly named National Playground Safety Institute) in the spring of each year. The next course will be held in March or April, 2014.

There are an estimated 200,000 playground related injuries reported yearly. National Recreation and Park Association's NPSI is a must for staff from park and recreation agencies, school districts, child care facilities, health departments, landscape architects, playground manufacturers, installers or contractors, insurance firms, consumers and others responsible for  play equipment areas or playgrounds.
